CPRC in the Daily Caller: “When Security Fails, Gun Rights Are The Last Line Of Defense”

The newest piece by John Lott at the Daily Caller starts this way:

These days, it isn’t even safe to get a cup of coffee. Australians just learned this the hard way. In the U.S., watching a movie can apparently be too dangerous. At least, terrorist threats by North Korea canceled the showing of “The Interview” in movie theaters.

The BBC on the Taylor Woolrich story

This past August the CPRC co-sponsored and organized a conference for Students for Concealed Carry.  The first speaker was Taylor Woolrich.  Her story is continuing to make a difference in explaining to people why it is important that stalking victims have the right to be able to defend themselves.  From the BBC:

A former beauty pageant contestant from California, 20-year-old Taylor Woolrich is the first to admit she’s not your usual guns rights campaigner.

Bakersfield, California Vice Principal shows that concealed carry permit holders can legally carry guns on school property

This story won’t be a surprise for those who have followed the CPRC (or here).  In California, concealed carry permit holders are allowed to carry on school property if they have approval of the school superintendent, which it would be too surprising for Vice Principal to obtain.  From KBAK/KBFX in Bakersfield, California:

A Tevis Junior High School administrator who was arrested and subsequently released last month after bringing a gun to school has filed a claim against the city of Bakersfield and its police department, according to his attorney Daniel Rodriguez.

Bloomberg’s groups continue to push to ban guns in businesses

Bloomberg’s groups have been pushing for sometime to get businesses to ban guns in their facilities.  On Monday, Panera Bread announced that it was asking customers not to bring guns to its restaurants” ((314) 984-1000).  But much of the media coverage has been misleading and simply asking people not to bring their guns with them won’t have any legal effect.  …

Geraldo Rivera makes a complete mess of the Taylor Woolrich case on Fox News

Taylor’s case was discussed on Fox News this afternoon.

Unfortunately, Geraldo Rivera was on to discuss Taylor’s case and he was very ill informed about what was happening. Here are just five errors in his discussion.

1) Geraldo claims that Taylor is safe because Bennett will for certain be in jail for the next 4 years and she has nothing to worry about.…
