Michael Bloomberg’s gun control Everytown is already investing heavily in the midterm elections, but they announced another $5 million in 15 House races. There is a normal wave for the party that doesn’t hold the presidency. Bloomberg’s Everytown and the media is likely to interpret any pick up by the Democrats as a win for gun control advocates.…
Michael Bloomberg is giving strong signals he will run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 at age 78. Bloomberg is getting a lot of IOUs from Democrats. He is putting $80 million this year to help Democrats take control of Congress. He is putting tens of millions to help Democrats take state legislatures and governors.…
Michael Bloomberg “has approved a plan to pour at least $80 million into the 2018 election” to give Democrats control of the US House of Representatives. Note this doesn’t include money Bloomberg is putting in pushing gun control issues.
This reminds us of Robert Reich’s recent claims about NRA campaign spending: “The National Rifle Association is a special interest group with a stranglehold on the Republican Party.…

An early estimate of $5 million from the main organization (the “March for Our Lives Action Fund”), $2.5 million in grants from Bloomberg’s Everytown (presumably much more from them in other ways), up to $1.5 million from Lyft, free hotel rooms and food, and for many people free air travel.…
In 2015, Bloomberg spent $2 million just on two state Senate races to flip the control of the Virginia state Senate. The announcement of a new $1 million only includes initial money directly from Everytown and not the side donations that Bloomberg makes directly to Democrats. One has to be very careful not to automatically assume that just because Bloomberg has previously not gotten a lot of return to his money that he will be in the same position this time. …
Going from a reported 2.6 million who attended the march in January to “hundreds” is quite the comedown. One would think that drop in crowd size would be a headline is some of the stories. But if you were looking for such comments in any of the news stories, you would be greatly disappointed.…
Dr. John Lott talked to Steve Gruber about Michael Bloomberg’s latest push on gun control. The billionaire former New York City Mayor’s “Everytown for Gun Safety” is hiring several new top staffers and primarily turning its attention to state legislatures, but that doesn’t mean Bloomberg is ignoring what is happening in Washington. …
Michael Bloomberg continues pouring tons money into pushing gun control. Last November he spent $28 million on his two initiatives in Nevada and Maine. From 2013 to 2016, Bloomberg donated a total of $48 million to candidates running for federal office. The NRA contributed a measly $2.1 million.
