Yet Another Unsuccessful Defensive Gun Use on Entertainment Television, CBS’s Tracker

Mar 7, 2025 | Media Bias

Television show bias against guns is never-ending. You won’t see an entertainment television show that has a civilian successfully using a gun defensively. Instead, something always seems to go wrong when guns are used defensively (from being fatally shot by the criminal without stopping the crime to getting in the way of police to continually having the gun stolen and use in a crime to it being used in an accidental shooting). Unfortunately, this episode of CBS’s Tracker is no different (Season 2, Episode 7, November 24, 2024). In this episode, a woman tries to use a gun defensively to protect herself and her son against a man who broke into her house, but she has the gun knocked out of her hands and the man ties her and her son up and steals their dog.

If you watched entertainment television these days, you would never know that people use guns defensively some 2 million times a year. If you want some examples of people successfully using guns to stop crimes, here are some examples. Other examples of people using guns to stop mass public shootings are available here.

Here is a video on Hollywood’s bias against guns.

Just an observation, the “Tracker” in Tracker is a civilian with a carry permit. Every week he solves more crime and stops more violence than the police. Ironically makes your point.

    Appreciate your work!

Good point. Thank you. They never mention that he has a permit, but you point is taken. There is still the issue of whether regular civilians successfully use guns to protect themselves, and that show has shown numerous unsuccessful examples.
