Television show bias against guns is never-ending. You won’t see an entertainment television show that has a civilian successfully using a gun defensively. Instead, something always seems to go wrong when guns are used defensively (from being fatally shot by the criminal without stopping the crime to getting in the way of police to continually having the gun stolen and use in a crime to it being used in an accidental shooting). Unfortunately, this episode of NBC’s Chicago PD is no different (Season 12, Episode 6, November 6, 2024). In this episode, a man tries to use a gun defensively, but he fails to stop the crime and ends up being murdered. The episode shows his grieving widow who warned her husband not to try to use his gun and now doesn’t know what she will do or how she will tell their children when they come home from school.
If you watched entertainment television these days, you would never know that people use guns defensively some 2 million times a year.
