A lot of TV characters these days are saying how much they hate guns. It is hard to think of any other item that they so regularly deride.

We previously pointed to ABC’s The Crossing, when the Sheriff’s son says, “I don’t like guns.” The main character on NBC’s Reverie said simply, “I hate guns.” The phrase was again used here in ABC’s Quantico (Season 1, episode 4).

The most famous example might be the 1980s TV series MacGyver, in which the titular character goes out of his way to avoid using guns.

UPDATE: Data directly from the Federal Police shows a different set of numbers (Original Post below). The number of CAC licenses in Brazil increased from 867,472 in 2022 to 1,026,633 in 2026 (see screenshots below), but those are internal government numbers that links...
