USA Today and NYT etc are now saying that the murder rate in NYC is lower than ever…some are saying “NY state has the 3rd fewest gun deaths per 100,000 residents according to USA Today”. That stat is a response I received when on DailyWire I responded to the Governor marching with the students in NYC calling for more gun control..I said that the strict gun laws in NYC were not useful in preventing gun violence, etc. What is the proper answer to their pointing out about NY state has 3rd fewest gun deaths? Now I have heard the police (can’t remember where I read it) say that about half of the murders in NYC are gun related (so that means about half used other means so I don’t think strict gun laws helped prevent those, obviously). Plus it if that is a stat for the whole state would not it also include that those who were able to get concealed carry, etc in the rest of the state would also have an affect on those USA Today numbers? Just curious what would be the answer to these stat now being used by anti-gunners (including all of the MSM)
