Black Friday NICS background checks break previous record by 9.4%

This past Friday saw 203,086 background check requests for gun purchases, setting a new single-day record, the FBI reported Saturday.  That is 9.4% higher than the previous record set last year and 15.6% over the number in 2014.  The top three day records and four of the top five days were recorded on Black Friday.  Five of the top 10 record days were recorded in 2012 after the Newtown attack.
