On Monday, Dr. John Lott testified before the Virginia state Senate Courts of Justice Committee. He had been invited to testify by one of the committee members, state Senator Mark Peake. Dr. Lott was the first and primary witness to testify against SB 5, a bill pushing “universal” background checks, checks on the private transfers of guns. …

Dr. John Lott will be testifying before the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity this coming Tuesday at St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire (September 12). He will be on the first panel and will discuss some of his past research on the subject.

Pennsylvania House State Government Committee – at the invitation of the committee’s chair, Representative Daryl Metcalfe, Dr. John Lott discussed the issue of gun free zones in schools before a well-attended hearing by state representatives. Because of comments during the hearing by Democrat Representative Mary Jo Daley, Dr. Lott offered to debate whoever she was able to convince to participate.…
