A 48-year-old man who was shot in the chest by his on-again, off-again girlfriend has died from his injuries, San Antonio police said.
Police also said they found the woman, in her late 50s, with her tooth knocked out. They said they believe the pair got into a physical altercation.

A New Orleans man was shot by his girlfriend in self-defense after he strangled and beat her inside her Harvey apartment in the early morning hours of July 4, according to arrest records.
Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Charles Carollo wrote that Randy Johnson had been dating the victim for 10 months when he was involved in the physical altercation in an apartment in the 4100 block of Lac du Bay Drive around 3:30 a.m.
