This episode of CW’s’ “The Professionals” was released on August 1, 2020, and it has a standard line in so many television and movies where characters say things like: “I told you that I don’t like guns.” Unlike most shows, there is some push back on this, but the person making the claim about not liking guns has the final word on it. Brendan Fraser (who plays billionaire on the show) tells Tom Welling (who plays security expert Vincent Corbo) multiple times during the show that he doesn’t like guns because guns kill people.

Your are reaching to find media bias using this example. It is called humor. Obviously to learn to shoot like that he saw the necessity of guns and he practiced. I understand the necessity of firearms (or whatever type of future weapons). But I am not a “gun nut” as many are. My firearms are tools. Just like my tractor, shovel, and horse bits are tools. Until one finds a way to remove evil from people’s minds, keep varmints from damaging my property, and put game on my table, I will need this tool. I do not dream of killing people, going back into the military, or being a policeman. So no, I don’t like guns for killing people. I don’t even like killing cattle or game with them. But I do like eating beef and game, so until something better comes along I will keep this tool I take no pleasure in using. Of course I understand the need for self protection as well. But I want a society where the need to carry a gun is not necessary. Until it is…
