CPRC on the Dennis Miller Show: Discussing Background Checks and Bloomberg Funded Research

Mar 10, 2014 | Featured

The audio of John Lott’s interview with Dennis Miller is available here (March 10, 2014, 12:35 to 1 PM).

Dennis Miller’s kind endorsement of the CPRC at the end of the interview:

We are talking to John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center, and if you ever see that name or that organization’s name ascribed to a study I would encourage you to read it because John will follow the data and I think just present you with the facts of it. There is a way for Bloomberg to do his data to present the facts. If the percentage of research is smaller then it was before, there is more research indeed numerically but the percentage is smaller, you can certainly put that out there to argue your side of things. But just put that out there. The subjectification of empirical in present day is troubling. You do not get that with John R Lott Jr.

Some supplementary material.
Information on background checks is available here and here.
Regarding Bloomberg’s claims you can see here, here, and here.

So is there really a question of whether Trump reduced crime in DC? Did the Washington Post inaccurately report murder data to make the drop look smaller than it actually is?

The Washington Post doesn't really want to give President Trump credit for the drop in crime in DC. Please look at the graph above and notice that there was a discrete change in August and September 2025 (and the change only started about half way through August on...
