The death total in Moscow exceeds the 130 people murdered at the Paris concert shooting in November 2015. It is more than twice as many as the 59 people who were murdered in Las Vegas. The US has experienced a number of Islamic-based mass murders, including Fort Hood and San Bernardino (see list below). A gun-free zone in a country where private ownership of a gun is almost impossible.
The striking thing is that there are no immediate calls for more gun control in Russia. The obvious reason is that gun control is already incredibly strict.
Several gunmen burst into a big concert hall in Moscow on Friday and fired automatic weapons at the crowd, injuring an unspecified number of people and starting a massive blaze . . . The attack took place as crowds gathered for a concert of Picnic, a famed Russian rock band, at the hall that can accommodate over 6,000 people . . . Extended rounds of gunfire could be heard on multiple videos posted by Russian media and Telegram channels. One showed two men with rifles moving through the mall. . . .
