CPRC’s Senior Fellow Nikki Goeser discusses her testimony before the TN Legislature in favor of the lifetime Order of Protection Expansion Bill SB1699/HB1645. The legislation expands the eligibility for filing a petition to obtain a lifetime order of protection to include victims of aggravated stalking, especially aggravated stalking, and felony harassment. The legislation passed the final floor vote in the Tennessee State Senate unanimously 32-0 on March 18, 2024 and will now become law.
