FBI “Most Wanted”: Pushes claim Torture to get info on Terrorist attacks generates more problems

Mar 29, 2024 | Media Bias

CBS’s FBI Most Wanted pushes another liberal idea, that torture of terrorists doesn’t work. In this case, the torture only generated more hatred of Americans (Season 5, Episode 2, February 20, 2024). Note that the CIA claims torture “thwarted plots and led to the capture of terrorists.” Even the New York Times notes eight cases where torture obtained information that saved lives. The more basic question is why the CIA so strongly pushes for the option for torture if it doesn’t work. There is also the question of deterrence. If terrorists believe they risk torture, does that cause some to consider not to engage in terrorism?
