Dr. John Lott talked to Vince Coglianese on Washington, D.C.’s WMAL about the Lakewood Church attack in Texas on Sunday, February 11th. The attacker, a transgender “woman” who had a criminal history (including assaulting a police officer and forgery) and mental illness, was stopped by two off-duty police officers before the attacker could kill anyone. Genesse Ivonne Moreno, used male names (e.g. Jeffrey Moreno-Carranza and Jeffrey G. Escalante-Moreno). Two people were injured — a 57-year-old man and the child who accompanied the shooter. They also discussed the center’s research on mass public shootings (here and here).
UPDATE: “Preliminary reporting indicated the shooter was transgender, but in a Monday news conference, investigators identified her as a woman and the biological mother of the 7-year-old child.” It is clear why she is a biological mother proves she isn’t a transgender. For example, the Rhode Island murderer was a father, but he still clearly identified as a transgender female.
