Philadelphia: “Man [with a concealed handgun permit] Shoots 3 Teens He Says Attacked Him On SEPTA Bus In Oxford Circle”

A concealed handgun permit holder shoots three young male attackers in the their legs. Two of the attackers were 16-years-old and one was 17. Story from CBS Philly on April 16, 2020:

A man opened fire inside of a SEPTA bus claiming he was being attacked by three teenage boys, police say. The shooting happened just after 1 a.m. on the number 58 bus . . .

“Preliminary information is that 24-year-old male who was being physically attacked did pull a handgun and fire at least three shots,” Philadelphia Police Chief Insp. Scott Small said.

Three other people on the bus and the driver were not hurt.

Police say the alleged shooter has a license to carry and is cooperating with investigators.

    Can you see the difference in the meanings of the original headline versus this version of it? Authors of articles such as this need to be called out for glorifying the ownership of concealed carry permits, the purchase of which only serve to put money in the hands of the sheriffs and perpetuate the continuance of a system that has outlived its purpose.

      Sorry, but what we put in the title was perfectly accurate. It also makes it clear that the person was carrying a concealed handgun, which was very important to the story.
