There is nothing unclear about it. Her list of critical /essential services is based on the DHS critical infrastructure list dated March 19; firearm and ammo concerns were not added to that list until March 28. She made it clear that nothing included in guidance dated after the original list would be accepted. Therefore, her administration has declared anything related to firearms to be nonessential. Here it is from an email I received from the state: “… For purposes of this order, critical infrastructure workers are those workers described by the Director of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in his guidance of March 19, 2020 on the COVID-19 response (available here). ***This order does not adopt any subsequent guidance document released by this same agency***, ” emphasis included in the original email.

The only question remaining at this time is when her administration will go on the offensive to actually enforce her order.

So is there really a question of whether Trump reduced crime in DC? Did the Washington Post inaccurately report murder data to make the drop look smaller than it actually is?

The Washington Post doesn't really want to give President Trump credit for the drop in crime in DC. Please look at the graph above and notice that there was a discrete change in August and September 2025 (and the change only started about half way through August on...
