What happened to the five minutes that each witness was to get at the end? Why did the chairwoman only ask two witnesses for comments about proposed laws? Dr. Hupp offered several comments on possible legislation during her testimony. Where were the Republican Senators besides Senator Lee? If Senator Lee is the chairman of the committee, why was the Vice Chair running the meeting? I understand that CDC has not been restricted by the Dickey Amendment from researching gun violence, but from promoting gun control issues, but it is constantly asserted that the CDC has been prohibited.
Mr. Skaggs is happy to lie through his teeth and the members won’t allow Dr. Lott to respond until the very end when Mr, Lee grants his time to do so. Why did the Obama administration cherry pick the data? Only one answer comes to mind: They wanted the results to be predetermined. That is not research, that propaganda.
