Debate over gun control on Turkish Television

Turkish Television’s Newsmakers held a debate on gun control. The debate was between John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center and Joel Rubin, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs during the Obama administration.

The example that Rubin gives with respect to Reagan’s shooting is also misleading.  There is a big difference between a terrorist type attack that is targeting one person and an attack that is going after as many people as possible.  With all the armed Secret Service around Reagan, it would have been much more difficult for Hinkley to kill multiple people than to only shoot the president.
