John Lott talked to Jim Bohannon on Thursday, June 4th during the 11 PM hour.  Jim’s radio show has long been the fifth most popular talk radio show in the country.  From Bohannon’s website:

The trial of James Holmes, the man accused of shooting up a theater in Aurora, CO, heard the defendant speak in his own words this week about how his killing of 12 strangers and wounding of 70 others was to increase his self-worth. The Holmes case is just one of many high-profile cases of mass shootings in the United States in recent years. Each such case gets a lot of play in the media, as you would expect. But there are many cases in which mass killings are prevented, and those don’t get nearly the same coverage. Why is that? You would think media outlets would want to cover what would have to be considered good news. Our guest tonight contends that few people have any idea how often concealed handgun permit holders have stopped mass killings. But, does this mean all of us should carry guns? And, what of the nation’s various gun control laws – with so many mass shooting events, either successful or successfully thwarted, have they had any positive effect at all? We’ll discuss these issues with return guest John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center.
