Since the Supreme Court’s 2022 Bruen decision, television writers and producers have worked over time to try to convince Americans that concealed carry of handguns is dangerous. Unfortunately, HBO’s Lanterns is not off to a promising start in avoiding the bias seen in other TV shows, making it seem like the regular everyday citizens who would attend a high school football game in rural Nebraska are a danger to others. Despite that characterization, those who carry are actually extremely law-abiding and stop a high rate of active and mass public shootings.
