Joshua Jahn used an 8mm bolt-action Mauser rifle during a shooting at an ICE facility in Dallas, Texas, on September 24, 2025. He legally obtained the antique rifle in August 2025. Unless gun control groups want to ban bolt action rifles or ban leftists from buying guns, it isn’t clear what gun control regulations they would push to have stopped this, though this is similar to the Charlie Kirk assassination and Democrats can out for gun control regulations after that attack.
The murderer thought he was killing ICE officers, but he just shot up ICE vehicles and didn’t realize that he was hitting the illegals who were in the vehicle.
This murderer apparently came from a family that strongly supported getting rid of guns and overturning the Second Amendment. Here are some of his mother’s statements.
Joshua’s mother, Sharon Jahn, previously ranted on social media against Republican lawmakers in Texas for supporting the Second Amendment.
“Governor Abbott, Senator Cornyn and Senator Cruz how does it make you feel that your action to open up gun laws is responsible for the killing of 21 more people?” she wrote in a post on May 25, 2022.
She added: “Do you secretly sit in front of a tv and smile a demented smile? You must be proud of all the money that sits in your bank accounts from the gun lobby support. Was it worth it, Governor Abbott? How about you senators?”
“Here is my hope: May you be reminded of the deaths every time you spend that precious blood money you have received from the gun lobby. Hope you think of it 100% when you attend the NRA meeting in a few days.”
“Senator Cornyn, I realize you suddenly had something in DC come up where you won’t be attending. It’s unfortunate you don’t even have the spine to stand up to the NRA and tell them the real reason you aren’t attending. You are a coward, a spineless coward.”
She also posted song lyrics two days later that included the phrase “We can melt all the guns.” . . .
