It’s time to make your case in terms progressivists and anti-gunners understand, using the same terms they use against them and their positions, to whit:
1. It’s OK to start with pointing out that no anti-gun idea is effective in lowering the incidence of the type of crime intended by the legislation;
2. The real effect on the ground is racist, because of these ideas’ disparate impact on law-abiding minority residents of urban high crime areas;
3. Each of the anti-gun initiatives makes it easier for criminals to do their jobs, and NO legislator had better be in the business of making things easier for criminals to prey on law-abiding citizens;
4. The real purpose of the gun control program is to disarm the law-abiding American public, purely and simply. In effect, it has shown itself not to be about gun control, but about DISARMAMENT and CONTROL over each and every one of us. Its name is “Disarm and Control.”
