CPRC on the Jim Bohannon Show to discuss the Supreme Court decision over “straw purchasers”

Jun 17, 2014 | Featured

On Monday, the Supreme Court released its decision in the case of Abramski v. United States. The case involved a police officer, Bruce Abramski, who bought a gun, a Glock 19 handgun, for his uncle. The officer, who is a federally licensed dealer and could get a discount on guns, bought the gun in Virginia and they transferred the gun to his uncle through a second licensed dealer in Pennsylvania, where his uncle lives. The Obama administration successfully prosecuted Abramski for two felonies: for lying on the federal background check for when he denied that he was making a straw purchase and for providing that same false information to the gun dealer who sold the gun to Abramski.

CPRC’s John Lott discussed the decision with Jim Bohannon on Monday, June 16th from 10:35 to 11 PM (audio available here).
