The deadly shooting occurred just after 2 p.m. Tuesday on the two-lane corridor between the communities of Ribbonwood and Pinyon Pines, southwest of Palm Desert, according to the CHP.
At that time, CHP Indio Communications Center received reports of a three vehicle hit-and-run crash involving a 2018 Ram 5500 tow truck driven by Gabriel Rodriguez, 52, of Midway City in Orange County. Investigators believe Rodriguez struck multiple vehicles and then fled eastbound on State Route 74.
At about 2:15 p.m., Rodriguez reached a construction zone near Palm Canyon Drive where crews were directing one-way traffic. CHP says after ignoring traffic control workers, Rodriguez confronted a pilot vehicle that was guiding about 30 vehicles through the active work area.
According to the preliminary investigation from CHP, Rodriguez, armed with a shotgun, fired several rounds into the air before exiting his vehicle. CHP says he then approached the pilot vehicle and pointed the shotgun at the driver.
According to the investigation, the pilot vehicle driver fired a handgun after fearing for his life and the safety of others nearby, striking Rodriguez…
The other individual involved in the shooting was initially taken into custody by Riverside County sheriff’s deputies on suspicion of firearm assault, but he was released the same day after questioning…

Luther Lewis Stewart, 32, of Jersey Way, died at the scene of the 10:08 p.m. disturbance on Waterfront Drive, according to deputies’ reports. A 38-year-old male who allegedly shot Stewart has not been charged, and evidence has been presented to the District Attorney General, the sheriff said…
The sheriff reported that the man who shot Stewart told investigators that he heard a disturbance while he was outside on his property and then saw a male in a Ford F150 pickup stop on the street and back up. A male later identified as Stewart got out of the truck and came toward him with a sword, threatening to kill him, investigators were told.
The man grabbed a 9mm firearm from his vehicle and fired at the attacker, who fell to the ground. Deputies reported Stewart still had a sword in his hand when they found him. Stewart’s body was transferred to the Knox County Regional Forensics Center for an autopsy. The investigation is continuing.

According to the BCSO, the Boulder County Communications Center received a 911 call around 8:12 p.m. from a woman who said a man with a gun was following her and her husband. She told authorities they were driving north on Highway 287 when a sedan began tailgaiting their vehicle.
When they stopped at the traffic light on Lookout Road, the woman said the man pulled alongside their vehicle and began yelling at them. The couple told authorities that the man brandished what looked like a handgun, and they attempted to drive away when the light turned green.
Statements provided to the detectives investigating the incident say the man repeatedly tried to pull up alongside the couple’s vehicle, and the woman believed she heard gunshots. Her husband then reportedly fired his handgun towards the suspect’s vehicle in self-defense…

At about 9 p.m., family members said they were standing in the front yard when a car drove past the home. Jeffrey Tyler Kinzer, who officials identified as the suspect, was reportedly leaning out of the window, shouting racial slurs at the group…
The person who lives at the home also said that she called the Lee County Sheriff’s Office after Kinzer left. But about five minutes later, Kinzer and the driver returned.
This time, Kinzer was reportedly wearing body armor and carrying an AR-15-style rifle.
Those outside spotted the suspect with the gun from a distance and began running, Green said. Then Kinzer opened fire, and Green said a bullet flew past him.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. near the 2000 block of North Congress Avenue. The incident prompted a large police response and temporarily shut down portions of the area as investigators processed the scene. A CBS12 crew was on scene as detectives searched for evidence.
According to Boynton Beach Police, St. Cyr drove to the parking lot and used his vehicle to block another vehicle occupied by his ex-girlfriend, Dyminique Shuler, and a friend, identified in an arrest report as Woodly Fedna.
Investigators said St. Cyr exited his vehicle and immediately fired multiple rounds through the windshield of the occupied car. Shuler and Fedna fled on foot as St. Cyr continued pursuing them through the parking lot while firing additional shots…
Police said Fedna, who has a concealed weapons permit, returned fire while being chased, striking St. Cyr once in the chest…
The two victims were not injured and took cover inside nearby businesses until officers arrived, according to police…

At one point, police allege Lockridge got behind the counter and started swinging the machete at the clerk.
The clerk was able to leave the store and get a gun from his vehicle.
Authorities say Lockridge initially followed him outside but then went back inside the store.
When the clerk went back inside, Lockridge reportedly tried to attack him with the machete.
That’s when police say the clerk shot Lockridge and called 911…

Officers say Whitley followed another vehicle with a man and woman inside and was driving aggressively. They say Whitley got out of his vehicle at a stoplight and punched out the passenger side window of the other vehicle.

The 37-year-old man is now charged with felony stalking, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, injury to personal property, and assault on a female…

The Roseville Police Department said the wanted man, who was injured in the shooting, skipped bail on June 9.
Agents from the bail bond company tracked him to the Marathon gas station at 12 Mile Road and Interstate 94, where they saw the man standing outside a vehicle and talking to another man.
Police said the bail agents positioned their vehicles to block the man’s vehicle and exited their vehicles in an attempt to take him into custody. The man then got back into his vehicle and tried to escape by driving away.
During that attempt, the man pinned a bail bond agent who was standing between the vehicles. The man then accelerated his vehicle, trying to push the bail agent’s vehicle away.
Another bail agent broke the front driver-side window of the suspect’s vehicle and tried to shift the vehicle’s transmission into park. Police said the bail agent and driver fought, and the agent fired one round, with the bullet striking the suspect in the arm. The bail agents then got the man into handcuffs…
All bail agents involved in this call are licensed by the state of Michigan and hold Michigan concealed pistol license credentials, the police department said…

According to reports of the preliminary investigation, six people were at the river access when Hoofman approached while talking about a previous robbery between him and one of the people there…
One person in the group said that Hoofman pulled out a handgun and began to point it at the group. This person also said Hoofman appeared intoxicated.
This person said Hoofman pointed his gun at another person in the group who was calling 911, stating that person had a gun. Reports state multiple parties told Hoofman it was just a cellphone.
Multiple attempts to de-escalate the situation were made, reports state.
According to reports, Hoofman fired two shots in the direction of the group, striking next to one person’s foot and a few feet in front of them.
A person from the group said two people from the group, as well as an unknown man, displayed guns in an attempt to warn Hoofman to put his gun away. They also told him there were children present.
The three people trying to warn off Hoofman then fired warning shots into the ground, authorities say. Hoofman then began to point his gun at the party again, in the direction of an adult and two children. At this point, a person from the group then shot Hoofman out of fear for the children and other adults at the park…
The sheriff’s office reported that several witnesses said they saw Hoofman fleeing with a gun. One witness shared a video with the deputies of Hoofman sitting on the ground, pointing a gun in the alleged direction of the group.
The sheriff’s office noted that the park was full of other people at the time of the incident.
As of this article’s publication, charges are not being considered against the person who shot Hoofman.

New Orleans police say Doughty had been drinking all morning when he became enraged by the presence of his stepdaughter’s boyfriend at his home in the 3400 block of Franklin Avenue shortly after noon…
The affidavit says Doughty called his ex-girlfriend, “belligerent and drunk” and told her he was “going to take care of it.” She, in turn, called the boyfriend’s mother, and the two planned to meet at the Franklin Avenue home in an attempt to de-escalate the situation.
According to police, Doughty stalked through the house yelling, entered his stepdaughter’s bedroom, struck the boyfriend and pointed a Glock 17 at him, telling him to “hurry up and leave.” As the boyfriend ran from the house, Doughty allegedly fired at him from the porch.
The boyfriend’s mother and a male family member had arrived in a white Infiniti sedan, and the male relative returned fire, police said. Meanwhile, Doughty’s ex-girlfriend arrived and became “trapped in between the subjects exchanging gunfire,” the affidavit states…

According to FWPD, at about 10:20 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call concerning a person with a weapon in the 2900 block of Ross Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.
After speaking with witnesses, officers learned that the man was involved in a verbal and physical argument with a woman and dragged her down the street while being armed with a machete.
Witnesses told police that the woman was screaming for help, and one neighbor came outside to tell the man to stop.
Police said the man who witnesses said was dragging the woman then approached that neighbor while he was still armed with the machete, and the neighbor shot him at least once.
That’s when witnesses called 911, and the neighbor stayed at the scene to be interviewed by homicide detectives, officials confirmed.
At this time, no arrest has been made, and the names of those involved have not been released.

A woman who fatally shot a man during a dispute over a parking space at a North Lauderdale Walmart back in June won’t face charges, Broward prosecutors said Thursday.
Melissa Payne shot and killed Bart DiGuglielmo during the June 30 encounter outside the store at 7900 W. McNab Road, authorities said…
Witnesses said they heard DiGuglielmo threaten Payne and Payne tell her not to come near her car, the memo said…
Prosecutors wrote in the memo that the video showed DiGuglielmo continue to “aggressively approach” Payne even as she had a gun in her hand…
“The video does not demonstrate that [Payne] was in the right, rather it demonstrates that the State of Florida cannot overcome her claim that she was in reasonable fear of great bodily harm by clear and convincing evidence,” the memo said. “Florida is a Stand Your Ground State. [Payne] did not have to wait to be attacked before resorting to deadly force. She did not have to retreat as long as her fear was reasonable and no evidence has been presented to disprove that.”…
