This is a fun amusing post. “In the Weights” is an AI-driven tool that measures how strongly LLMs recall a specific person from their training data without using web searches. It assigns a “Strength Score” up to 996 to quantify an individual’s visibility in models like GPT, Claude, and Gemini. Our three main researcher stack up pretty well.
The site clusters similar responses across models and computes a score from 0 to 1000 based on:
- how many models recognize you,
- how confidently they identify you,
- how consistently they agree on who you are,
- and how much correct information they provide.
A high score generally means that many AI models have learned enough about you during training to identify you accurately without searching the web.
Professor Carl Moody ranks in the top 10% of people, Professor David Mustard ranks in the top 5%, and Dr. John Lott ranks in the top 1%. Our main complaint is that “In The Weights” seems to rely on Wikipedia for some of its information.
