The Fairfax County Police have had four murder cases (with defendants charged and facing trials) so far in 2026. In three of those four cases, the suspects are illegal immigrants. Fairfax County typically sees 12–13 homicides per year.

Abdul Jalloh (Sierra Leonean national, illegal immigrant with 30+ prior arrests) — charged with second-degree murder in the February 2026 stabbing death of Stephanie Minter at a bus stop in Hybla Valley. 

Misael Lopez Gomez (Guatemalan national, illegal immigrant) — charged with second-degree murder and child abuse in the killing of his 3-month-old daughter.

Anibal Armando Chavarria Muy (Guatemalan national, illegal immigrant) — charged with second-degree murder in a fatal stabbing.
