The Universal Background Check in DC is $168, to transfer four guns between the same two people at the same time is $672

If you add up the fees for the Federal Firearms Licensee ($120) as well as the fees for the background check charged by the DC police department ($35) and their registration fee ($13), the total cost of a universal background check is $168. Amazingly, even if one person is transferring multiple guns to the same person, there is not one single transfer fee. If four guns are to be transferred, the total cost of the transfer is $672. If someone can provide a benign explanation for that, it would be appreciated.

This is the fee to the private FFL that handles the transfer.

UPDATE: Data directly from the Federal Police shows a different set of numbers (Original Post below). The number of CAC licenses in Brazil increased from 867,472 in 2022 to 1,026,633 in 2026 (see screenshots below), but those are internal government numbers that links...
