Here is one danger of carrying a gun openly. Please watch the video until the end. There are other problems similar to what uniformed police officers face. There is a bigger benefit to carrying concealed. The evidence on the dangers that uniformed police face, which is similar, is available here. This will likely trigger some, but what people have to understand is that the CPRC doesn’t make Second Amendment rights arguments, it isn’t what got us into this debate and what makes us continued to be involved, we got involved because we want to figure out what makes people safer.

First, that victim had his gun in his pocket, easily accessible. If you OC, have a good retention holster.
Most crimnals (90%?, 98%?) are looking for an easy target. If they see you are OC, they will attempt to rob someone else. I’ll take those odds.
I believe CC makes you a target because you look unarmed/defenseless. If you really believe that OC makes me a target, you would encourage OC – then I’d be a target and you’d be safer CC. 😉
Somehow, even with video evidence, you missed the point and rationalize your open carry. Open carry is stupid. It only makes you a target and does not make you safer. In the insanely stupid argument of, well, it’s okay because it makes me a target first and makes a concealed carry person even safer is so stupid. The whole point is, don’t be a target. Concealed carry allows a person to defend oneself with deadly force when the bad guy who has chosen you to be a victim doesn’t realize that you’re not going to be a victim. Open carry is stupid. Wake up.
