Knife crime is viewed as a serious and going problem in the United Kingdom, particularly in urban areas like London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow. In England and Wales, police recorded over 49,000 knife crime offenses in the year ending March 2023. That marked a 5% increase compared to the previous year.
