Paramount+’s Landman is continuing Taylor Sheridan putting guns in a relatively positive light. His Yellowstone had a couple of examples of defensive gun use (here, here). This episode of Landman (Season 1, Episode 10, 01/12/2025) not only makes the point that the woman here has a concealed handgun permit for protection, but that you don’t need a permit to carry in Texas. More importantly, Tommy Norris (played by Billy Bob Thornton) makes the point that an armed society is a polite society.
