Ocala, Florida, March 3, 2024 (WCJB)

The victim, a truck driver, told deputies on Sunday he was driving southbound on I-75 towards Ocala when Belleastin, driving another semi-truck, threw a bottle at his truck.

Initially, the victim pulled over to confront him but decided against it. Belleastin continued to follow the other trucker and eventually pulled up beside him.

Dash camera video inside Belleastin’s truck shows him firing multiple shots at the victim’s truck. The other driver slowed down rapidly to avoid being struck. Out of fear for his life, the victim then fired back.

Deputies say footage shows Belleastin opening fire at the victim’s truck two separate times. He also grabbed a second handgun and pointed it at the victim.

Belleastin then drove to Love’s Travel Stop, a gas station on Northwest 47th Avenue in Ocala, and stayed there for a short time before continuing south on I-75. The victim met with deputies at Love’s to report the shooting…

A man from Gainesville was shot multiple times in the chest, through a Bible, in a Stand Your Ground shooting after sheriff’s deputies say he harmed his baby and attacked bystanders.

Putnam County Sheriff’s Office officials say Jason Kaercher, 26, of Gainesville, began behaving erratically earlier this week. On Thursday, relatives took his 3-month-old baby to a home in Melrose off State Road 21 near the elementary school. Kaercher met with the family and a Department of Children and Families (DCF) case manager.

He then jumped on top of a vehicle and began hitting and cracking the windshield. He approached a man in a truck, opened the door, and began beating the man with the shovel, breaking his arm. The shovel then broke and Kaercher discarded it. Another person grabbed the shovel and hit him.

The driver was then able to grab his gun to defend himself. As Kaecher approached him, holding the Bible, the driver fired multiple times, striking him in the chest through the book…
