Raleigh police will not file charges after a woman shot and killed a man in the parking lot of a Food Lion grocery store.
According to police, 49-year-old Steven McLamb is accused of tugging on a woman’s car door handle Tuesday after following her to the store at 7713 Lead Mine Road.
He reportedly became aggressive as they were driving, and the woman shot McLamb in self defense…

Cocoa police believe they have a suspect identified after a shootout between a coach and a man not far from a children’s football practice Tuesday…
Cocoa police said the coach intervened when things got physical between a woman and her ex-boyfriend.
They say the ex went and grabbed a gun from his car.
“And began to shoot at the witness who was trying to intervene,” public information officer Yvonne Martinez said. “That witness then also retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and there was an exchange of gunfire.”
Police say the suspect got away. The coach was grazed by a bullet but not seriously hurt…
Police say the coach that was involved isn’t facing any charges and was deemed to be acting in self-defense.

Police responded to the 5200 block of Blanco Road in the parking lot of Taco’s de Mama where a man was shot in the stomach.
Officials on the scene said two men had gotten food and gone back to a truck to eat when a man approached them and demanded their wallets at gunpoint. Police later said the victim gave the suspect his wallet and the suspect shot him.
Police said the driver of the truck then returned fire but was struck by gunfire in his stomach. The suspect drove off in a white SUV…

The suspect who was arrested, 28-year-old Jetzael Marmalejo Garcia, got out of his truck, and shot both the 30-year-old man in the right arm and his 16-year-old nephew in his left thigh and abdomen…
The man being followed also pulled out his gun and opened fire back at Garcia after he realized they were being shot at.
Yakima police said they were able to find Garcia, after they used the flock camera system to track down both him and the truck…
After they tracked down Garcia, they were able to arrest him without incident…

The 31-year-old man was walking in the 1400-block of South Kedzie Avenue at about 9:52 p.m. when he was approached by two male suspects, one armed with a handgun, police said.
Police said the 31-year-old man is a concealed carry license holder and there was an exchange of gunfire.
The 31-year-old man was wounded in the stomach and left buttocks and transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

According to an early investigation, the 48-year-old man was riding his motorcycle, when two men approached on their own motorcycles and tried to rob him. They demanded his clothes and vehicle, but the victim refused, and the men attacked him.
During the scuffle, the victim pulled a firearm, and the 29-year-old pulled his gun and both shot each other.
Police say the other suspect, a 38-year-old man, was not injured in the gunfire and was taken into custody…

Detroit police are trying to find a group of thieves who burglarized a west side auto shop early Monday morning, before they were scared off by the armed owner.
The owner of the Front End Auto Clinic on Warren Avenue, between Evergreen Rd. and Southfield Freeway, said the crooks cut through a fence and then broke into his business…
The business owner told WWJ’s Charlie Langton he arrived during the robbery and fired a couple of warning shots into the air. The robbers were spooked, but were able to get away before police arrived.
There were no injuries reported…

Neither man involved in a fight and shooting at the Stateline Market Aug. 7 will be charged, Elizabethton Police Department (EPD) reports show.
Those reports show the man who was shot was the primary aggressor and that witnesses said while arguing with the other man, who had drawn a gun, he said “your [expletive] won’t do anything.”
Witnesses also reported the man without the weapon hit the other man in the face several times after initially turning away from their face-to-face argument. As the armed man was falling to the ground, he fired a shot that hit the other man in the hip and exited without causing serious injury…
He said the assailant charged toward him and that the man was angry about the shooter’s cousin sleeping with the man’s wife. He said he pulled his .45-caliber pistol and showed it to the yelling man, who allegedly said “you aren’t going to do [expletive] with that.”
The shooter then pocketed the pistol but pulled it back out when being punched and fired one round, he told Commons, adding that “he wasn’t trying to kill (the man) just defend himself and get (the man) off of him.”

The victim was inside the store when he told police a vehicle pulled up and two men got out. One of the two – ‘with a large gun, faced the victim and started shooting.’

Texarkana, Texas Police are investigating a shooting that happened about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Creekside Apartments parking lot.
According to police, a woman was walking to her car to go to work when she noticed her former boyfriend, Brandon Webb, standing between two cars across the parking lot – presumably waiting for her to come out of her apartment. She tried to get into her car before he could get to her, but he managed to push the door back open. Webb made some comment about how she was dressed and then attacked her as she sat in the drivers seat. During the struggle, he began to try to shave her head with a pair of electric clippers that he’d brought with him. She wound up with several cuts on her forehead and neck from the clippers. With Webb still attacking her, she managed to grab her pistol from her console and fired one shot in his direction, which she believed hit him because he fell several times as he tried to run away. She immediately called 911…
Through the course of the investigation, Detective Alan Bailey determined that Webb was the aggressor in this incident, and the woman was strictly acting in self-defense. He obtained felony warrants for Stalking and Aggravated Assault for him. Once he is released from the hospital in the next few days, he will be arrested for those warrants – along with the three felony probation revocation warrants he already had. No charges are expected to be filed against the woman.

A rideshare driver shot two robbers after dropping off a passenger on the city’s West Side Saturday morning.
The shooting happened just after 1 a.m. in the 1500 block of South Millard Avenue in the North Lawndale neighborhood.
Chicago police say the driver, a 26-year-old man, had just dropped off a passenger when he was approached by an armed man and woman. The pair stole the driver’s cell phone and fired shots.
The driver, a concealed carry license holder, grabbed his weapon and returned fire – striking the 20-year-old man in the leg and grazing the 18-year-old woman in the arm…

According to Sheriff Ellis, Anderson aggressively approached several customers inside the store and proceeded to walk into the bathroom. A subsequent investigation revealed that once inside of the bathroom, Anderson started assaulting an elderly man and knocked him unconscious onto the tile floor and continued assaulting him.
Sheriff Ellis says a Licensed to Carry Holder attempted to intervene the assault on the unconscious victim. The Licensed to Carry Holder was then assaulted by Anderson, knocking him to the floor and continuing to assault him.
It was at this time that the Licensed to Carry Holder fired two rounds, striking Anderson once in the right arm. Anderson then fled from the bathroom, left the business and fled the scene in his vehicle…

A 15-year-old boy who pointed a pellet gun at a woman during a robbery attempt in Uptown ran away when his would-be victim pulled out a real firearm, Chicago police say.
It happened around 12:31 p.m. Tuesday in the 5000 block of North Winthrop, not far from the Argyle Red Line station.
Police said a group approached a 37-year-old woman on the street, and one of them pulled out a gun and demanded her property.

No charges are being sought after a deadly shooting at a northwest Charlotte gas station on Wednesday, authorities said.
The shooting happened at the QuikTrip at Bellhaven Boulevard and Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road around 10:30 a.m., the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
Police said before the fatal shooting happened, a suspect robbed the QT before driving away and firing at least one shot into the air. Nobody was hurt by that bullet.
An officer followed the vehicle up Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road before the suspect turned around and returned to the QT.
Once back at the gas station, the robbery suspect allegedly got into an argument with a man pumping gas, according to the CMPD.
Police said during that argument, the man shot and killed the robbery suspect. The victim in this shooting has been identified by authorities as David Joseph Leonhardt, 32.
CMPD took the man into custody and said he is cooperating with investigators. On Thursday, the CMPD said detectives with its homicide unit are not looking for any suspects in the case and no charges are being sought at this time…

Shots rang out at a Takoma Park gas station Tuesday night after a man pulled his own gun on two armed suspects who approached him.
Takoma Park Police responded to the Sunoco in the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue around 11:12 p.m. on Aug. 29 for a report of an assault.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had pulled into the air pump area of the gas station parking lot when he noticed a vehicle drive up behind him.
When he saw two masked suspects jump out of the car armed with guns, the victim pulled out his legally owned firearm and shots were fired.

Around 7:30 p.m. deputies were called to the area of Republic and Gant Drive to reports of shots fired, according to a media release.
When deputies arrived they found a man who said another man shot at him while he was sitting in his vehicle in the 1900 block of Republic Drive.
The complainant returned fire, for which he had a valid Ohio Concealed Carry Permit.
The suspect ran away from the scene before deputies arrived…

It happened at Valvoline Instant Oil Change on Bell Road. Metro Police say a 33-year-old Antioch man died.
According to Metro Police, the 33-year-old man drove to the business and requested air for one of his tires.
“He became agitated at the lack of immediate service, retrieved the air compressor hose, and began filling up his own tire,” Metro Police wrote in a press release.
“An employee of Valvoline, Terence Smith, 22, told the driver that he couldn’t do that and took back the air compressor hose. An argument ensued, resulting in the manager of the business, Brooklyn Key, 32, telling the man to leave.”
The man is accused of punching and pushing Smith. Police say Key tried to break up the fight, but it escalated.
“Key went to his vehicle in the parking lot and retrieved a pistol,” police continued. “When he walked back, Smith and the man were still fighting. Smith pushed the man into the driver’s seat of the Chrysler and walked away. The man then grabbed a pistol from the rear passenger floorboard, stood up behind the open driver’s door, and fired several rounds at Smith. Seeing this, Key fired a shot at the man, striking him in the head.”…
Police identified Key, who said he shot the man in self-defense. He was released following the interview.
No charges have been filed…

T’Dera Gray and Lania Parker allegedly set up a child drop-off at the Marathon station on Kennedy Avenue Thursday afternoon.
Gray is accused of putting a shirt over his face, walking up to the car where his child’s mother and her boyfriend were sitting and opening fire.
The boyfriend returned fire. Police say Gray took off in a car driven by Parker. Inside was a 3-year-old child.
Gray and the boyfriend were both injured.
Gray and Parker were arrested. Gray faces two counts of felonious assault. Parker is charged with complicity and child endangering.
