UPDATED: Biden filibustered a black female judicial nominee for the nation’s second-highest court. Rasmussen Survey: Is it a good idea or a bad idea to make race and gender the basis of choosing appointments to the Supreme Court?

Feb 1, 2022 | judicial confirmations, Survey

According to a new Rasmussen Reports survey of likely voters in late January, only 26% of voters think that it’s a good idea to make race and gender the basis for choosing Supreme Court Justices. While Trump let people know in advance the people he would appoint to the court, Biden promised to pick someone of a particular race and gender — a black woman. Those who approve of Biden’s approach are blacks, Democrats, liberals, and those who didn’t graduate high school, though for blacks it is relatively close at 49% approving and 42% disapproving.

Bizarrely, with all the media lauding Biden for appointing a black female, he twice filibustered a black female judicial nominee, Janice Rogers Brown, to the nation’s second-highest court. By the way, Biden filibustered Hispanic (Miguel Estrada) and other female nominees (Priscilla Owen).

So is there really a question of whether Trump reduced crime in DC? Did the Washington Post inaccurately report murder data to make the drop look smaller than it actually is?

The Washington Post doesn't really want to give President Trump credit for the drop in crime in DC. Please look at the graph above and notice that there was a discrete change in August and September 2025 (and the change only started about half way through August on...
