It isn’t just new TV shows where characters say that they hate guns: NBC’s Monk (2003) & Fox’s The Finder (2012)

The indoctrination against guns on television shows has been going on for a long time. We have collected many recent episodes on television where characters say that they dislike guns available here.

Here is an episode from Monk on NBC that aired on July 25, 2003. At least this episode humorously treats this phobia of guns and makes it appear that the police officers don’t understand her concern.

Karen Stottlemeyer: Mm. You know how I feel about guns.
Lieutenant Disher: I know you have strong feelings. I just can’t remember what they are.
Karen Stottlemeyer: I’m against them, Lieutenant. My husband doesn’t carry a weapon. I don’t know why you need to.

Here is an episode from The Finder on Fox that aired on February 2, 2012. This episode shows a more typical portrayal of the phobia about guns.

Walter Sherman (played by Geoff Stults): Wow, that is why I don’t like guns.

Willa Monday (played by Maddie Hasson): Gross!
