The Crime Prevention Research Center completely dominates the Social Science Research Network’s listing of Academic Crime Research

The Social Science Research Network’s eLibrary provides 947,686 research papers from 498,760 researchers in more than 50 disciplines.

Dr. John Lott’s work was the 48th most downloaded researcher over the last 12 months, and he is the 24th most downloaded researcher ever.

No other researcher or university or center has a even a fraction as many top crime papers as does the Crime Prevention Research Center.

For Criminal Justice Research papers, the CPRC currently has four of the top ten most downloaded research papers.

For Guns & Gun Laws papers, the CPRC currently has eight of the top ten most downloaded research papers.

For Correlates of Crime papers, the CPRC currently has five of the top ten most downloaded research papers and three of the top three papers.

For Security & Safety papers, the CPRC currently has three of the top ten most downloaded research papers.

For Causes & Consequences of Crime papers, the CPRC currently has three of the top ten most downloaded research papers.

For Race & Social Inequity papers, the CPRC currently has the most downloaded research paper.

For Criminal Law & Procedure papers, the CPRC currently has the second most downloaded research paper and two of the top ten.

UPDATE: Data directly from the Federal Police shows a different set of numbers (Original Post below). The number of CAC licenses in Brazil increased from 867,472 in 2022 to 1,026,633 in 2026 (see screenshots below), but those are internal government numbers that links...
