What they ought to be going after is making the NICS system work correctly.
The NICS system, is only as good as the information, that is put into it. We have many States that refuse to list involuntary commitments, in the check, claiming HIPPA laws. You also have to factor in human error, by FFL dealers, and military branches, reporting Bad Conduct, and dishonorable discharges to NICS, which wasn’t done with the Sutherland Springs, Texas mass murderer. Nothing is foolproof.
I agree with Mr. Campbell. These laws are not about safety. Enforcing current law properly will have a noticeable impact.
This is just plain bad. Anyone with a grudge can claim you are a danger and the cops show up at O-Dark-Early that’s how folks get hurt! Follow the Constitution. You NEED a court order. Stop subverting the our founding documents.
