CNN’s Chris Cuomo falsely claims no studies find illegal aliens commit crime at a higher rate than Americans, Steve Cortes points to our research

Jan 10, 2019 | Featured

On CNN Chris Cuomo, Ana Navarro, and Steve Cortes trade claims about research on crime by illegal aliens versus native-born Americans. While Cuomo and Navarro claim that there is no research showing illegal aliens commit crime at a higher rate than native-born Americans, Cortes cites research from John Lott with the Crime Prevention Research Center. A copy of the research that Cortes cites is available here. As our report notes, the studies that Cuomo thinks proves his point either rely on self-reported surveys of criminality (guess what: illegal aliens might be more reticent to report that they have already been in jail than Americans) or mixing legal and illegal aliens together.

CNN’s discussion took place on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 9:31 PM.
