24 Sep , 2018

The Crime Prevention Research Center research has had an impact.  The Social Science Research Network, with 820,883 research papers from 395,351 researchers from across 30 disciplines, has seen our research continue to dominate research on crime.  Not only does how frequently research is downloaded show how much researchers are interested in these studies, but the most downloaded research gets the attention of other researchers. There is no other university nor author who has half as many different top downloaded papers in all these different categories, and in most categories, no other author has more than one paper in the top 10.

In six of these eight categories, we have the top downloaded paper. In two of the categories, we have either the top three or four papers. and, in another category, we have the top two papers. Authors from the CPRC have included not only John Lott but John Whitley and Rebecca Riley and also Carl Moody, who is on the CPRC’s board of academic advisors.

The lists for these different categories are shown below.
