Dr. Lott receives Award from the National Association of Chiefs of Police and Sheriffs

Apr 17, 2017 | Featured

Dr. John Lott has just received the George Washington Award from the National Association of Chiefs of Police and Sheriffs (NACOPS).  Lott is the second person to receive this award.  The first was Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke, a member of the board of directors for the Crime Prevention Research Center.  Dr. Lott was greatly honored and thanked the association for this award.

The latest survey by the National Association of Chiefs of Police and Sheriffs helps explain why they gave Dr. Lott the award.  86.4% of police chiefs and sheriffs surveyed by the organization support “nationwide recognition of state issued concealed weapon permits.”  76% of those surveyed believed “law-abiding armed citizens help law enforcement reduce violent criminal activity.”
