During Mr. Obama’s presidency the number of people with concealed carry permits has increased from about 6 million to nearly 15 million. More than 6 percent of all adults in the U.S. now have a permit to carry a concealed weapon, according to John R. Lott Jr. at the Crime Prevention Research Center. . . .

Earlier this year, the nonprofit Crime Prevention Research Center found that the number of women with concealed carry permits increased “twice as quickly as the number of men with permits” between 2012 and 2016.

“With more women carrying nationwide has come a demand for gear and accessories designed specifically for women’s body shape and lifestyles,” said Athena Means, owner of the online retail shop Gun Goddess. “We women like pretty things, we like to personalize and customize our gear too, and to bring a little of our personality into our accessories.” . . .

John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center and author of numerous studies looking at the impact of firearm laws, said his research indicates that crime drops when concealed carry rates rise. Criminals, he said, are less likely to brandish a weapon if they believe that someone nearby may be able to shoot them.

“Those places that issue the most permits have the biggest drops in violent crime,” Lott said.

Given that, he said, the costs of an occasional outlier do not outweigh the benefits of allowing more people to carry concealed guns.

“You’ve got to look at the net effect of things,” said Lott, who recently published the book “The War on Guns: Arming Yourself Against Gun Control Lies.” “It’s going to be pretty hard to find any other group in the population that seems to be as law abiding.”. . .

According to the Crime Prevention Research Center, people who carry concealed sidearms for personal protection and are licensed to do so are among the most law-abiding groups in the country. That number has risen by 215 percent since 2007 to 14.5 million citizens.

Gun control proponents have argued that more guns in private hands translates to more violent crime, but that hasn’t happened. According to the FBI Uniform Crime Reports, homicides have declined over the past several years, and firearms are involved in a shrinking number of killings. . . .

One of the highlights of the event was John Lott speaking about his new bookThe War on Guns: Arming Yourself Against Gun Control Lies. Lott is well known for his statistical research at the Crime Prevention Research Center and has spent years debunking the lies portrayed as facts by the gun control lobby. Lott also pointed out that the people hurt most by gun control are the most vulnerable in society: poor minorities in high crime areas; women and the elderly.

Lott’s book covers everything from media bias to background checks with everything in between. He easily and handily debunks all of the lies that are constantly told by hoplophobes who indeed want to ban firearms but rarely ever admit it in public. Of course, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and New Hampshire’s own Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan have all stated they seek to ban firearms but claim they support the 2nd Amendment. . . .

the increase in women owning firearms “dovetails well” with Crime Prevention Research Center’s (CPRC) John R. Lott’s recent study documenting the number of women with concealed carry permits has increased twice as quickly as the number of men with permits, and about 75 percent more quickly among minorities than among whites, since President Barack Obama assumed office nearly eight years ago. . . .

The desire of late to take to arms is by no means restricted to gays. The number of concealed carry permits has increased 161 percent for women and 85 percent for men since 2012, according to the Crime Prevention Research Center. . . .

The anti-gun news media are always spouting the number of murders in the United States compared to other countries. A quick “fact check” using Dr. John Lott’s new book “The War on Guns”, tells a different story. Using the number of murders per million, makes the comparison on a level playing field: the United States 0.316, Europe 0.52, Africa 1.162, Israel 6.825 and the Philippines 1.1829. Hillary is always bloviating about instituting Australian style gun confiscation. Australia’s murder rate is 1.513 or 379% more than that of the United States. Australia’s murder rate has gone up since they confiscated the guns of law abiding citizens there. Of course, these facts never come out because the mainstream media are the anti-gunners fellow travelers. . . .

On July 28, Breitbart News reported Crime Prevention Research Center numbers showing that twice as many women as men were getting concealed carry permits during President Obama’s second term. CPRC numbers also “suggested that permit-holding is increasing about 75 percent more quickly among minorities than among whites.” . . .

The Harvard-Northeastern study found that gun ownership among women is growing rapidly, and that “women were more likely to own a gun for self-defense than men.” That dovetails well with recent findings by the Crime Prevention Research Center’s (CPRC) John R. Lott, Jr., who found that twice as many women as men are obtaining concealed permits during President Obama’s second term in office. According to the CPRC, “The number of women with permits has increased twice as quickly as the number of men with permits.” That study also shows that there is evidence which “suggests that permit-holding is increasing about 75 percent more quickly among minorities than among whites.” . . .

For example, in his latest book, The War on Guns: Arming Yourself Against Gun Control Lies, John R. Lott Jr. explains that Nidal Hasam, the November 5, 2009, Fort Hood attacker, was armed with just a pistol and a revolver, yet was able to fire “220 shots” because those at whom he shot were not armed with anything. Think about it: 220 rounds from revolver and pistol. Proof positive that finding gun-free victims and leveraging the element of surprise is far more important than the type of gun an attacker might have in his or her hand. . . .

In addition to simply owning guns, women are also moving toward carrying them. A study produced by John Lott’s Crime Prevention Research Center indicated that between 2012 and 2016, in states that offer data by gender, the number of women with concealed carry permits has increased twice as fast as the number of men with permits. . . .

Recall that Couric and her staff interviewed pro-gun scholar John Lott for four hours, then didn’t use a single minute of the interview in the final cut of the film. However, the recent revelation that a portion of the Lott interview was included in a near final cut, but was removed at the request of none other than billionaire former NYC Mayor Michael Bloombergafter he attended an advance screening only serves to further discredit the film. . . .

In the real world, there are more than 14 million Americans with concealed-carry licenses, according to research by the Crime Prevention Research Center, and at this rate it won’t be long before the number surpasses 15 million. In the real world, people aren’t lining up to voluntarily turn in their firearms to get guns off the street, they’re signing up for concealed-carry courses at record rates. It’s a heckuva story. . . . .
