CPRC on the Alan Stock Radio Show to discuss the Bloomberg backed Question 1 on the Nevada November Ballot: Gun control proponents refused to debate

Sep 15, 2016 | Featured

Dr. John Lott spoke with host Alan Stock about the real issues with many gun control proposals. A lengthy discussion takes place about Question 1 ( the gun-control ballot initiative financed by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and out-of-state anti-gun activists)in Nevada requiring background checks on the private transfers of guns. Dr. Lott explains what his issues are with Question 1. An example given is, if you let a close personal friend who is being stalked borrow your gun because she fears for her life, you would be committing a crime and could be arrested. Also, if you allow your child to use your gun while you are at the firearms range with them, it would be a crime. Dr. Lott explains that if you believe that background checks help stop crime then you should understand that everyone benefits and not just the gun purchaser, so the fees should be paid out of general revenue. More discussion on background checks and the serious flaws within the NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System).

(Sept 08, 2016 from 8:05 to 9:00 PM EDT)

Referring to the gun control advocates pushing Question 1, Alan Stock said: “Because the people that he was going to debate said: ‘We aren’t going to debate this guy.’  They wanted me to bring in someone local and someone who didn’t know exactly what you know.”

Alan Stock confirmed for us off the air that gun control advocates were happy to debate with someone who was not as knowledgable.  Part of the Bloomberg playbook to minimize the attention provided to opponents who would undermine their claims.
