Your and Nicole’s presentations here caused me to think that it may be time to emphasize again what has happened in England and Wales, as documented in Joyce Lee Malcolm’s book. Once the gun-control laws started getting teeth, in 1870 up to the present, the absolute absurdities of argument are so legion as to wonder that anyone have a brain over there who argued for these laws. The entire agenda was to arrogate to the central government the entire monopoly of the means of force, except that there has been little to no effect on criminals’ being able to access guns. While their rates of violent crimes may in some cases still be lower than ours, their rates of change are much greater and upward. The state claimed responsibility to assure public safety, but it has utterly failed. UK residents lost finally any rights to their own self defense. Whatever a victim may do can go against them, and they receive more severe punishment than even the criminal who commits the felonies.

For all intents and purposes, it is a crime to defend one’s self in the UK and in Australia. Any force that might be used against a felonious aggressor will be second, third, and fourth guessed by nimnos and know-it-alls who weren’t anywhere present during the event. Too often, the victims of felonies have received more severe punishments than have the perps. That is one bassackwards kind of law. But just that is on the verge of happening right here.
