CPRC at Fox News: “Dramatic spike in NYC slashing attacks frightens citizens, puzzles experts”

Uniformed police face a very difficult job in stopping these attacks.  Those doing the slashing will simply wait until the police leave the area, and it is impossible to put enough uniformed police out there to cover all the possible cars.  Undercover police is an alternative, but it is a lot more costly than simply letting civilians carry permitted concealed handguns.  From Fox News:

“It’s possible criminals just realized that it was easier to commit crimes on the subways than they had previously realized,” said John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center. “You may simply have a copycat effect.”
