The idiots on CNN are the Far Left. They are Marxists. John Lott is correct, But, the freaks he is talking to, will never accept reality. you CANNOT change human nature. It has been tried before. Under Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and Hitler. How did that turn out? The Libtards will Never understand this, They are mentally retarded. Period. Molon Labe.

  2. Bill

She is a real moronic Liberal who doesn’t want to acknowledge the facts.

Keep hammering away on the libtards. The goal is not gun free zones, it is a gun free United States. If anyone has a problem understanding that way of thinking then I suggest you study the animal rights religious cult.
Those being interviewed need to stop and say. Look, if you’re not going to recognize my opinion then this interview is over! I see no need to sit in front of a person who wants steer the conservation over to their side of the pool.
As I told thousands of people in New Yorkisstan in hundreds of meetings over three decades. This issue is no longer a compromise. Sportsmen have compromised themselves right out of their sport and civil rights!
Your’re already a criminal, you just haven’t been arrested yet!

While I respect his work, and position after finding out the truth of gun ownership, I believe Mr. Lott unfortunately fails to point out the very most important point of all time: when he does painstakingly not explain to these contraryian argumentative interrupting ‘interviewers’ that it is every American citizens BIRTHRIGHT to self-defense, bequeathed to them by GOD, and that our 2nd Amendment simply acknowledges that FACT in our Constitution.

< This point needs to told, over, and over, and over, until even these passivist morons 'get it'.

Secondly he must point out that Israel arms its teachers, (often openly) and hasn't had a school shooting …since…. since….when ?

While I greatly respect his work, and his changed point of view after finding out about the truth of gun ownership from his extensive research, -unfortunately I believe Mr. Lott fails to point out the very most important point of all -when he does not painstakingly explain to these argumentative and interrupting know-it-all ‘interviewers’ -that the POINT is that it is every American citizens BIRTHRIGHT, to self-defense, bequeathed to them by GOD, and that our 2nd Amendment simply acknowledges that FACT and reminds our leaders, in that Constitution. This point needs to be made, over, and over, and over, until even these passivi’st morons ‘get it’. People have the undeniable RIGHT to their own self-defense -as GUARANTEED by the 2nd Amendment. Period.

Therefore anyone, or any-thing (like a ‘law’ or edict) is INFRINGING on their RIGHT to that defense. Period…

Secondly, he needs to point out the fact that Israel arms its teachers, (often openly) and hasn’t had a school shooting … -since…. -since…. -when ?

Maybe even sheeple might understand that that was a good thing…. Maybe.

John Lott is not a Constitutional Lawyer. He is an academic researcher and as such must stick to his research. Otherwise he will risk losing credibility. He is not a defender of the 2nd Ammendment, he is an academic who is defending his research.

      Jon,
Yes, you are correct. But, we also need John Lott and people like him to point out that allowing people to be armed is the right thing to do, even if the 2nd Amendment did not exist. The reason for that is, if 2A were our only argument, anti-gun Pols will say: we can fix the “problem” by getting the second amendment removed.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more condescending interview. The CNN hack was obviously out of her league. Of course her league is probably her local coffee shop with her liberal friends, so it’s not surprising she gets embarrassed by someone as learned as Lott.

And she wanted to have a discussion not a debate, but then she has a typical liberal debate full of talking over the other when she couldn’t refute the points.

  7. Doug Dyer

Jon Dough, I agree with you—self-defense is an inherent right and also one protected by the 2nd Amendment—but many on the other side do not agree, despite the Supreme Court’s rulings. So, you will find it hard to sway them with a fact they find false. Instead, you have to use other facts, and that’s what John Lott does so effectively. We should all be very thankful for the work John Lott is doing, because it’s working really, really well. I actually find myself feeling sorry for anyone trying to win a debate against John Lott. So many in the media have gun control in their DNA. But, Dr. Lott, without being argumentative or emotional, gently presents facts that ultimately trump emotions and spin. John Lott also highlights that other economists and criminologist have similar findings in their research. This is the way to turn the tide, and the tide is turning.

  8. Bill

Well said, Jon. In short, banning the ownership or carry of common self-defense tools is immoral.

  9. Don Sharpe

John does a masterful job of introducing the solution to this interviewer who clearly has a lefty view of gun control.
By repeatedly stating the facts, that all the slaughters on campus’ were exclusively in ‘Gun Free Zones’, he forces them to draw the only reasonable conclusion.
Let legal concealed carry permitted citizens defend themselves everywhere in America.
