Australian gun laws did not stop Man Haron Monis or Farhad Jabar from obtaining firearms. The guns used in the Port Arthur massacre were purchased illegally. The guns used in the Milperra massacre are still legal now (as well as the knifes and machetes used in the Milperra incident).
What did stop people like Farhad Jabar from killing more people was some very brave police officers, in other words a good guy with a gun.
Think about this next time you are in a cafe or mall. If someone began to open fire on the public would you say to the gunman STOP! guns are illegal here, or would you prefer to defend yourself and others with your own gun?
