CPRC on the Sportsman Channel: Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro Gun Buyback

May 7, 2015 | Featured

John Lott talked to the Sportsman Channel 5:15 to 5:24 PM EDT on Friday, May 1st.

Their description of the interview: “In April, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut introduced the ‘Support Assault Firearm Elimination and Education of our (SAFER) Streets Act.’ The bill offers a tax credit of up to $2,000 for turning in ‘assault weapons’ to local police. Researcher Dr. John Lott of the Crime Prevention Research Center discusses the folly of such buyback programs. He explains how such laws are easily ‘gamed’ by buying and selling useless firearms. He notes that they target rifles solely because of their appearance, and do nothing to stop crime.”
