Bakersfield, California Vice Principal shows that concealed carry permit holders can legally carry guns on school property

10 Sep , 2014

This story won’t be a surprise for those who have followed the CPRC (or here).  In California, concealed carry permit holders are allowed to carry on school property if they have approval of the school superintendent, which it would be too surprising for Vice Principal to obtain.  From KBAK/KBFX in Bakersfield, California:

A Tevis Junior High School administrator who was arrested and subsequently released last month after bringing a gun to school has filed a claim against the city of Bakersfield and its police department, according to his attorney Daniel Rodriguez.

Bloomberg’s groups continue to push to ban guns in businesses

8 Sep , 2014

Bloomberg’s groups have been pushing for sometime to get businesses to ban guns in their facilities.  On Monday, Panera Bread announced that it was asking customers not to bring guns to its restaurants” ((314) 984-1000).  But much of the media coverage has been misleading and simply asking people not to bring their guns with them won’t have any legal effect.  …

Teachers in Missouri getting training to carry guns

31 Jul , 2014

The CBS News piece buys into the false Bloomberg claim that these types of shootings are becoming more of a threat and it doesn’t address why the concerns over teachers carrying is misplaced, but it is still a useful piece. The fact that CBS News is using the completely discredited Bloomberg claim about the school shooting problem getting worse is very disturbing.…

Many of these deaths clearly didn’t involve guns and many were self defense cases that should have been counted as benefits of concealed handguns, not costs.…

Bloomberg’s $50 million push for gun control this year, and why that is only the tip of problem

16 Apr , 2014

Bloomberg’s promise to spend $50 million this year on gun control efforts is just the tip of the iceberg. As the NY Times reports it, this is 2.5 times the $20 million that the NRA has been spending a year on political activities.

But that $50 million is really just a portion of the money Bloomberg is spending on the gun issue and it doesn’t even count all the other money that is flowing into the issue.…
