North Dakota moves to eliminate many gun-free zones, including parked cars on college campuses

The list of states that allow concealed permitted handguns on college campuses continues to grow.  From KX News in North Dakota:

Legislation is headed to Gov. Jack Dalrymple’s desk that expands the places where a concealed-carry permit holder can have a gun.

The bill would allow concealed-carry permit holders to pack guns at public parks, political rallies, concerts and highway rest stops.

CPRC at Fox News on the impact of police seizing people’s guns and not returning them

Malia Zimmerman’s piece contained this discussion:

. . . . These tactics are a way for police departments or the government to make it more costly to own guns, said John Lott, an economist, leading expert on guns, and author at the Crime Prevention Research Center. Lott believes the illegal policies most hurt poor gun owners, who not only are less likely to afford to get their property back, but also typically live in neighborhoods where they are more vulnerable to crime.

CPRC in the Washington Times on the big surge in gun production since 1999

A news article in the Washington Times:

. . . The biggest change in production has come under President Obama. From 2001 to 2007, gun production held steady at between 3 million and 4 million units a year. It topped 4 million in 2008 but shot to 5.6 million in 2009, held steady in 2010 and then spiked to 8.6 million guns in 2012 and a record 10.8 million in 2013, according to ATF data.

Police say a car theft goes awry when the owner of the car spots the thief take off, and jumps on the hood of the car.

The owner of Fast Trac car wash showed us surveillance of the ordeal. The video shows a bystander watching the car drive off with the woman on the hood; he takes out his gun, and chases it.
