Idaho becomes 9th state to mandate that people with permitted concealed handguns can have guns on college campuses

Idaho now joins seven other states that to varying degrees allow permitted concealed handguns on college campuses. As I note below, if you include Pennsylvania, it is probably more correct to say that Idaho becomes the ninth state. On March 12th, Idaho governor Butch Otter signed a bill that will allow those with an enhanced concealed handgun permits to carry guns on college campuses after July 1st this year.…

Callahan, who made the decision striking down California’s requirement of demonstrating the need to carry a concealed handgun before a permit was granted, have now made the same decision regarding Hawaii. Of course, people who want to be able to carry shouldn’t run out very quickly to go and get their permits (Orange County, California is an exception (see also here)).…

Our newest piece by John Lott at Fox News starts this way:

When will some Democrats who describe themselves as “pro-gun” realize that they aren’t fooling anyone?

Here’s their latest deception. President Obama’s nomination of Dr. Vivek Murthy to be surgeon general is in trouble, because the National Rifle Association decided that it was going to “score” the vote – that is, let its members know which senators voted for someone they believe is a threat to people being able to own guns for self-defense.

Department of Defense report on Washington Navy Yard Shooting completely ignores problems with gun-free zones

The Department of Defense report on the September 16th, 2013 Navy Yard shooting focuses on Aaron Alexis’ mental health issues not being discovered before the attack:

At various points during Alexis’ military service and subsequent employment as a cleared contractor — from the background investigation in 2007 to the disturbing behaviors he exhibited in the weeks leading up to the shooting — the review revealed missed opportunities for intervention that, had they been pursued, may have prevented the tragic result at the Washington Navy Yard.
